Try not to use your new system for at least 48 hours, because solvent joints may take that long to reach working strength.

Step By Step:

  1. Measure a length of pipe
  2. Cut the pipe to a specific length.
  3. Prepare the pipe for solvent cement.
  4. Apply solvent cement.
  5. Press the pipe and the fitting together.

CAUTION!

Solvent cements and plastic pipe cleaners are volatile chemicals that release airborne contaminants. Use them in a well ventilated area. Use a fan to provide ventilation if you must work in an enclosed space. Do not use near heat or an open flame.

Keep all containers tightly sealed when not in use. If spilled, solvent will dissolve household plastics, such as toilet seats. Be especially careful in living areas near fixtures and appliances.
