For
a smooth and even cut, use a miter box and a
hacksaw with a relatively fine blade.
Carefully
remove all rough edges or burrs with
sandpaper or a
utility knife. Make sure the debris falls out of the
pipe.
Wipe
the pipe and the fitting with plastic pipe cleaner to
remove moisture and oil.

Dry
assemble the pipe
and fitting to ensure
proper alignment. Draw
a registration line on
them with a felt tip pen.
Apply
solvent liberally
to the outside of the pipe.
Do not cover the
registration line. Apply a
thin coat to the inside of
the fitting.
